You have travelled
the world.
You are yet to be here.
Six days inside Kolkata's Durga Pujo —
the living art festival that transforms an entire city.
Experience as a guest, not a visitor.
The city you never knew existed
Every October, a city of fifteen million people stops being a city. Kolkata becomes a living art & heritage — its streets, its rooftops, its river, its oldest families all consumed by a five-day sacred event that has no equivalent anywhere on earth. You are yet to be inside it.
The version no visitor ever sees
There are two Durga Pujas. The one the world photographs — crowds, lights, famous pandals. Then there is the other one. The private courtyards of 200-year-old North Kolkata families, where rituals are conducted with heritage, context and meaning. The sculptor in Kumartuli, who begins work in April, following rhythms based on tradition.
Zyvago was built for this
Zyvago is a context-led cultural immersive experience. We build programmes around one cultural event, one city, one season. Designed for those who know the difference between witnessing and truly experiencing.

A NOTE ON ACCESS
The sculptor's door
is open.
It always has been.
Kumartuli is not a destination — it is a relationship.
The finest artists here have given interviews. They have welcomed visitors.
What they have never given is the conversation that happens after the camera is put away — the one where three hundred years of craft becomes personal, where the river clay becomes a philosophy, where you stop being a guest and start being a witness.

Frequently Asked Questions
A curator of luxury tours in the form of immersion journeys — not a booking platform, not a travel agency in the traditional sense. We build thematically deep programs (our categories) around culture, heritage, wellness and spirituality — each designed for specific human experience in synchrony with right timing, in presence of expert guidance, with multi-sensory touchpoints & participation (from Tactile to Tasting) and unscripted human conversations.
Honestly, that's exactly the reason, not against it. We don't carry years of —"the way it's always been done" — no default itineraries, no industry habits to unlearn. What we do have is private, personal attention from the first discovery call through to the end of the journey and a design process built on what guests actually told us “what they want”, not what the industry assumes they should get. Hence you may find our programs differently placed from the standard tour or concierge services.
Yes — but a specific kind. Not luxury for spectacle or status. But luxury which offers depth: real human connection, honest unscripted conversation, cultural participation at your discretion — guided or not. The comfort and context are together, in the service of creating real memories to cherish, not to the point of just grandeur.
Small numbers, first. Every cohort is capped to 10 guests only — often seven, when the experience calls for it. That's not for luxury flourishing; it's for making real attention work and authentic vetting possible: no last-minute arrangements, all pre-booked & reserved as per the program purpose almost two months in advance. Safety extends to how we handle your money, too. We hold that responsibility ourselves rather than outsourcing it to third-party protection schemes — our policies are also built around “What guests actually need”, not just what's standard for the industry. If Zyvago ever has to call off a program, we keep proactively reaching out to guests first — for a refund or reschedule to another upcoming journey, by choice — with no multi-layer approval process to sit through. Zyvago is a registered Indian business (with CIN [U79110WR2026PTC294295], GST [19AADCZ0363R1ZM]) — further details available on request in case of any validation.
A guided tour takes you through physical spaces with a third-person narrative script. We bring in people who were born into the lineage or professionally leading, at times even both. Our guests are there to experience & converse with — a scholar, a practitioner, a heritage preservationists, a master artisan etc. — so what they exchange is not a rehearsed and reiterated script. Flow and depth absolutely takes the route based on who's in the room, not how many facts get recited. Conversations and value addition from it, clearly gets authentic and personalized when left to the free-flow of individual choices.
We start with a theme, not the destination. Once we know what the journey is really about — a festival, a lineage, a sacred energy— we lock the timing around it first, choosing low-density windows deliberately, before we ever fix the place. The destination comes last, built around that theme and timing, not the other way round. Most operators do the reverse: fix the dates around your availability, then fit a destination into them — whether or not it actually syncs with what's happening there. We don't.
Time it differently. Shoulder season, early or late in the day, weekday visits — small shifts like these cut crowds fast. It's a real pattern now, not just personal preference: 78% of luxury advisors report guests actively shifting bookings specifically to dodge peak crowding (Virtuoso 2026 Luxe Report). It's the same low-density thinking behind how we time every Zyvago journey — worth applying to any trip, wherever you're going.
Mainly two things: judgment and rescue. Knowing what's actually worth your time before you spend it, and fixing things fast when plans go sideways — a delayed flight, a closed site, a change of heart mid-trip. It's why 65% of luxury travelers say that safety nets are the main reason they use an advisor at all (Virtuoso 2026 Luxe Report). At Zyvago, that judgment comes directly from someone who's actually walked the journey before launching the program, not a call center or bot reading a script.
Because it usually means juggling things that don't talk to each other — transfers, hotels, guides, local logistics — each with its own vendor, its own hiccups, its own follow-up. Roughly 4 in 5 luxury travelers report exactly this kind of friction (Flywire 2026 Luxury Travel Report). At Zyvago, from the moment you land to the moment you leave, one person runs it as a single coordinated journey. (Flights and travel insurance stay in your hands, arranged however you prefer — everything from arrival onward is ours.)
The advisor learns what you actually like — pace, food, privacy, how much you want planned versus left open — so every trip after the first one gets easier and better, not harder. "Please be a traveler, not a tourist." — Andrew Zimmern (American chef, restaurateur). That's the relationship Zyvago is built around — guests, not tourists, known and looked after over years, not single trips.
